We are proud of our heritage and history at Tumby Bay Hotel and are always on the lookout for historical photos or information on our hotel or the district in general. Next time you visit us, spend a little time looking at our framed photographs in the foyer which span over one hundred years, or visit our photo gallery to view the full sized historical and archived pictures on our website.
Tumby Bay Hotel opened in March 1904 with the original licencee, Mr Sydney F Potter, who remained sole licencee until 26th March 1905.
For other licencees please see our Publican's List.
The original hotel structure was only one storey, until around 1908-1909, when the second floor was added on, quite an amazing feat of construction for its day.
Tumby Bay Hotel improves year by year, with major refurbishments and minor changes always happening, but the good old fashioned structure still stands strong today.
If you have any photos of our hotel or the area in which its located, or if you can fill in any of the gaps in our history or date our unlabelled photographs, we'd love to hear from you.
